Chain-I

is the new home. The real deal are the trains. The lovely thing is how they don't have to bother about traffic, how they weave through picturesque locations maintaining their promise of leaving you at that urban end you expect, with a rhythmic background sound and the dull feeling of doing nothing, all the while zeroing in on the destination. Chennai has a good connectivity system using trains and they are way more comfortable than the average transport systems, even personal. While the weather promises improvement almost everyday, but manages to not deliver, the electricity board manages to increase the pain by doing away with current at the prime points of every night when sleep wants to slip into the soul. Add to this, the threat of mosquitoes from the open window and we have a perfect combination for insomnia. A/C goes off with power fluctuation, no ventilation calls for opening the windows and open windows are a free buffet invitation for the killer insects. All that said, this city looks beautiful in the night. I can see tree covered hills and water bodies reflecting the moon and the faintly lit clouds crawling their way across the sky with a range of stars arranged as we read in the books and as we expected to see them someday. As I change gears yet again, the promise seems wider and the tunnels seem deeper, hopefully this train will cross the tunnel soon and break on through to the other side.

Chain-I is nice for Idlis. The trains are awesome and most reasonably priced across all means of transport anywhere else. Can you set up your own electricity? You should do Ctrl-Alt-Delhi sometime. :P
